Mutts Rock at Dog Expo

We went to the DOG EXPO on Sunday! I went to the Expo because I LOVE DOGS! My favorite dogs are Golden Retrievers, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Shelties and Mutts. There was only one mutt at the dog Expo. That mutt was our Skipper.

Skipper was very shy at the Expo even to the Chihuahua! In fact, the Chihuahua jumped on Skipper's nose and scared him!

I got to pet lots of dogs at the Dog Expo. Here's the way to pet a new dog:
  • First you ask the owner for permission.
  • If it's okay, then you let the dog sniff your hand.
  • Then you start to pet the dog by scratching his chest and shoulder.
DON'T meet a new dog by sticking your hand in his face. The dog won't like that. Would you like that?

I saw a lot of purebred dogs at the Dog Expo. They looked awesome. I wish I could have every single one of them, but I still think that MUTTS ROCK!

My Day In New York City

I went to New York City the day before New Year's. We took the bus there and walked around the city all day. While we were in the city, we saw the New Year's Day Ball, the Christmas windows at Macy's, the HUMONGOUS tree next to the skating rink at Rockefeller Center, and lots of Elmo's too.

It was very funny to see all those Elmo's walking together. What would you think if you saw three Elmo's walking together?! (You can tell me in your comments.)

One of the nice things abo
ut going to New York City is talking to people on the street. I talked to a man with a tiny dog in a sweater. One thing I don't like about cities is the crowds. It was especially crowded that day. I also don't like loud noises.

At the end of the day, I got a giant pretzel. It was very good.

I like visiting New York City for a day, but I don't want to live there. I like where I am living right now. I have to admit though that we don't have windows like these!

Crayon Physics

Lately, I have been playing a game called CRAYON PHYSICS on the computer. Physics is about how things move. Crayons are about drawing things. In CRAYON PHYSICS, you draw things with a crayon, and then they move. They always move according to gravity. Using gravity and the things you draw, you have to make a red ball move until it touches a gold star.

It's easy to learn and, at the beginning, it's easy to play. Later it gets hard because you have to draw pivots, bridges, pulleys, seesaws and lots of rocks to make the ball move to the right place.

Since I started playing the game, I've been thinking about some other things that move according to gravity. There is:

SNOW...

My dogs' drool...
Me when I pas de chat in ballet...
(that's not me [YET])

and shooting stars which are really meteors falling to Earth because of gravity

Gravity is everywhere! And so is physics. And if you come to our house, crayons are everywhere too!

If you want to try CRAYON PHYSICS, here's the link: http://www.crayonphysics.com/

Have fun!

The Best Christmas Ever!

Christmas finally came at last!

I had been waiting for a loooooooong time. We got up in the morning and went downstairs. We ate breakfast then went to church. After church we got dressed in comfy clothes and then went to open our presents.

I got a Moo Bunny from Santa! A Moo Bunny is a cross between a bunny and a cow. They are very rare, and I am very lucky and very happy!

I hope you had nice holidays.

Rabbit Rescue

I was up in my room when I heard a weird sound. I went downstairs, and my mom went outside to check what could be making that sound. We thought it might be a cat or maybe a really big bird.

It was very dark out so I brought a flashlight for Mom. We shined the flashlight on the ground, and we saw a rabbit. The rabbit was stuck in our chain link fence! It was crying itself crazy! It was trying to push its way through the fence, but it could not get through.

Mom tried to cut the fence with wire cutters, but it didn't work. I ran to our neighbor's house, and my friend's mom said that she would see if they had a tool we could use to cut the fence. She came quickly with a big pair of bolt cutters. Mom took the bolt cutters. She carefully put the bolt cutters between the fence and the rabbit. The rabbit was very still, and we were worried that it was dying. I couldn't even speak (and that is very unusual for me). Finally, Mom cut the fence.

But the rabbit was not rescued yet. The bunny did not even run away. It was so hurt that it just stayed in one spot. It even let us touch him. We put the rabbit in a cardboard box with a towel to keep him warm. Mom called a wildlife rescue person, and he said that he would take the rabbit to a wildlife rescue place. So we met the man at a nearby gas station and gave the rabbit to him.

I was sad to give the rabbit away. During the rescue, I named him Lester. I liked having him in our yard, but I'm happy because he's okay now. I hope he will be able to move back into the wild again one day. Actually, I really hope that he will move back underneath our shed one day. But he better be careful and not get stuck in the fence again. If he does, he might meet our dogs.

The end.

Red

Red

Fall leaves, ripe apples, Clifford, a rose.
Hot cinnamon, spicy cider I smell with my nose.

Hot peppers on my tongue, salsa with spice.
The crackly sound of a fire sure is nice.

Smooth and hot on my hand, a fuzzy winter hat on my head.
All of these things make me think of red.

Football Game!

On Saturday, it was a sunny, warm, blue sky day. Our whole family went to the football game. My brother plays the flute in the marching band. We sat up high in the stadium so we could see my brother. He is my favorite player in the band. I also like the gong player, the flags and the baton girls. I really like the band hats with the big white feathers. At the game, I bought a pink, soft sweatshirt with a hawk on it. The hawk is the mascot of my brother's school. GO HAWKS! The game was really fun, and I got a plastic football that the cheerleaders threw into the stands. I can't wait to go again. Maybe next time I will watch the game!
